Building a Kinder Future

We cannot solve our animal-welfare crisis without investing in the next generation. A better future for animals begins with what we teach children today. By encouraging kindness, responsibility, and respect from an early age, we can help raise a generation determined to do better.

Children’s Resources COMING SOON!

  • Little Learners: Ages 3 to 5

Simple picture activities and coloring pages introduce basic pet needs, gentle treatment, animal safety, and when to ask an adult for help.

  • Growing Helpers: Ages 6 to 9

Checklists, games, and small supervised responsibilities help children learn about daily pet care, safe choices, kindness, and ways they can help animals.

  • Caring Leaders: Ages 10–13

Older children explore the lifelong responsibility of pet ownership, the needs of community and stray animals, and safe, compassionate ways they can make a difference.

Schools & Student Community Projects

We love seeing schools, students, and community members looking for ways to get involved! We’ve put together some project ideas for those interested in helping animals through community service. We welcome your own ideas, too! Have an idea or want to get involved? Contact us at info@neighborsforanimals.org.

Barrio Dogs has served as a mentor to Neighbors for Animals. Our experience volunteering with their Youth & Paws Program has reinforced our belief in teaching children compassion and responsible pet care from an early age.
